The National Clubs Association (NCA)      Chairman's Notes (6)

A Happy New Year to you All.

Things are really hotting up at the top of National 1 with four clubs being covered by only six points, all in with a real chance of promotion. I was fortunate to witness the Jersey vs Rosslyn Park match, which Jersey just edged, in front of a crowd of 3,640.  This must be a record attendance for an NCA game.

In N2 North, Loughborough have opened up a gap with the next five in contention for the play offs. In N2 South, Richmond being in front, with four Clubs contesting the play offs.

But as we all know, a lot can happen between now and the end of the season.

I am sure we are all looking forward to the forthcoming Six Nations with the new look England side selected by Stuart Lancaster, together with Ian Ritchie the new RFU CEO starting work on 27th Feb. Let us get behind them both, together with whatever team is selected.

Finally. I would be grateful if you would urgently let me have your comments via your club NCA rep on the Slaughter May report which is to be discussed in the February Council Meeting.

Norman Robertson.
